Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: January 2026
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the Interior Designist website or engaging our studio for a commission. By accessing our website or commissioning a piece, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1. About Us
Interior Designist is a bespoke furniture atelier based in Brooklyn, New York. All pieces are designed by Erika Flugger and crafted by Pablo Almeida and our team of skilled artisans. We operate as a made-to-order studio; no pieces are held in stock.
2. Trade & Professional Clients
Interior Designist works exclusively with interior designers, architects, and qualified private clients. Our pieces are not available through retail channels.
- Trade professionals are welcome to contact our studio to discuss commissions and establish a trade account.
- Private clients are accepted on a referral or direct inquiry basis.
- We reserve the right to decline any commission at our discretion.
3. Orders & Commissions
All Interior Designist furniture is made to order. Each commission begins with a consultation to determine specifications including dimensions, materials, and finish. Orders are confirmed in writing and are subject to the following conditions:
- A 50% deposit is required to begin production. No work commences without a confirmed deposit.
- The remaining balance is due upon completion, before pickup or handoff to the client's logistics provider.
- Lead times are typically 8–12 weeks from deposit for furniture, and 3–6 weeks for textiles and pillows. These are estimates and may vary.
- Once production has begun, orders may not be cancelled and deposits are non-refundable.
- All sales are final. Because all pieces are custom fabricated to client specifications, we do not accept returns or exchanges.
- Custom dimensions, materials, or finishes not offered in our standard collection may incur additional charges.
4. Pricing
All prices are quoted in US Dollars and are subject to change without notice. Quoted prices do not include shipping, delivery, installation, or any applicable taxes unless expressly stated. Final pricing is confirmed in your written order summary.
5. Shipping & Delivery
Interior Designist builds and prepares furniture at our Brooklyn studio. Clients are responsible for all shipping, delivery, insurance, and logistics. We do not provide shipping or delivery services.
- Clients arrange and coordinate their own shipping with a preferred logistics or white glove delivery provider.
- Interior Designist is not responsible for damage, loss, or delays occurring during shipping, transit, or installation.
- All pieces are professionally inspected and packed at our Brooklyn studio prior to client collection or handoff to the client's logistics provider.
- Risk of loss passes to the client at the time of pickup or handoff to the client's carrier.
- We strongly recommend engaging a white glove delivery service experienced in handling fine furniture.
- Clients are advised to arrange appropriate transit insurance through their logistics provider.
6. Warranties
We stand behind the quality of our work. Each Interior Designist piece carries a 5-year structural warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, improper care, normal wear and tear, or damage occurring during shipping and delivery.
Because clients arrange their own shipping and logistics, Interior Designist is not liable for damage occurring during transit, delivery, or installation. We recommend clients arrange appropriate transit insurance and inspect all deliveries immediately upon receipt.
7. Care & Maintenance
Detailed care instructions are provided with every piece. Solid wood furniture should be kept away from direct heat sources and excessive moisture. Upholstered pieces should be professionally cleaned when required. We offer a restoration service for Interior Designist pieces; please contact us for details.
8. Intellectual Property
All designs, images, and content on the Interior Designist website are the intellectual property of Interior Designist and may not be reproduced without written permission. The purchase of a piece does not confer any right to reproduce, copy, or replicate the design.
9. Privacy
Your use of our website is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any disputes arising from these Terms or from a commission with Interior Designist shall be resolved in the courts of New York County.
